Working on number sense with your preschoolers? Here’s a fun math center to review number sense from 1-20.
The chicken coop theme pairs nicely with a farm unit study.
How do kids complete this activity?
- Choose a numbered chick from the baggie and place it in the top left corner of the coop.
- Sort through the remaining pieces to find the rest of the pieces that match the numbered chick.
- Once complete, the coop will have four pieces (matching numbers, tallies, number words, and dotted sets).
- Remove those pieces, and start again with another number until all number sense sets have been built.
