Description
If you are planning to teach nursery rhymes, you don’t want to miss this awesome nursery rhyme sequencing bundle! It’s perfect for teaching sequencing all year long!
These nursery rhyme sequencing activities are perfect for kids ages 4-7! They’re designed to help preschool and kindergarten kiddos learn to make sense of the world around them as they put events in sequential order.
You can start teaching this skill with simple 3- and 4-step sequencing activities using rhymes that preschoolers are familiar with.
Not only do these activities teach sequencing, but your kids will practice scissor skills, number recognition, and more.
You will begin each lesson teaching preschoolers the nursery rhyme. Once they’re familiar with the rhyme, you can begin talking about the order things happened or characters appeared in each rhyme. Use words such as first, next, then, and finally.
This set includes 11 rhymes:
- Baa Baa Black Sheep
- Hey Diddle Diddle
- Humpty Dumpty
- Little Bo Peep
- Little Miss Muffet
- Mary Had a Little Lamb
- Hickory Dickory Dock
- Jack and Jill
- Three Blind Mice
- Little Boy Blue
- The Muffin Man
Once children are familiar with the nursery rhyme you’ve chosen, they’ll practice scissor skills by cutting out the flap book and sequencing pictures.
Then, review the order of events with the pictures having your child put them in order. Once they’re in the correct order, they’ll lift the flaps and glue the correct picture under each one.
After all of the pictures are glued in the proper order, you can have them retell the rhyme using the pictures as clues.
