Work on letter recognition and uppercase/lowercase matching with this fun bee-themed alphabet matching game. Add this to your preschool literacy centers.
Print, laminate, and cut apart the alphabet cards. Print the bee mats on regular paper if you want your preschoolers to use dot markers, or print on cardstock and laminate the mats if you want your preschoolers to use bingo chips.
How to Use This Activity
Once you’ve got this activity prepared and ready for use, there are a few ways to use it with your preschoolers.
Letter Recognition
Sort the cards into two sets – one uppercase set and one lowercase set. Choose the activity mat that matches the set.
Choose which set to work with, and get started. Have your preschooler choose a letter card.
They will first identify the letter on the card, and then find that letter on the recording page.
Use a dot marker or bingo chip to mark that letter. Continue in this manner until all letters are identified.
Uppercase/Lowercase Matching
Set up the activity as described above. This time, however, use the uppercase cards with the lowercase mat or the lowercase cards with the uppercase mat.
This will help little ones practice matching uppercase and lowercase letters.
