Preschool Ocean Theme

Four days of ocean-themed activities for preschoolers! Each day, you’ll work on a variety of preschool skills including the alphabet, numbers, science, crafts, motor skills, and more.

This 150-page ocean unit study is a great way to introduce preschoolers to animals that live in the ocean while strengthening early math and literacy skills.

Ocean Theme Day 1

  • Alphabet matching cards – match uppercase/lowercase letters
  • Tracing pages – trace images of ocean animals
  • Count and clip cards – counting practice 1-20
  • Life cycle of a sea turtle – life cycle diagram and sequencing hat
  • Shark letter hunt – draw a card and identify the letter

  • Ocean number cards – numbers, words, and counting sets 1-20
  • Ocean sensory bag
  • Ocean counting mats – counting, number formation, and ten frames 1-10
  • Sea turtle weaving craft
  • Ocean sight words – tracing cards for pre-primer sight words

Ocean Theme Day 3

  • Way Down Deep in the Deep Blue Sea summary page
  • Ocean color puzzles – match crayon, fish, and coral of the same color
  • Fine motor cover me pages – cover the dots with bingo chips or dot marker
  • Jellyfish counting – punch holes on jellyfish and string pipe cleaners or links through holes
  • Ocean Skittles science – watch the colors dissolve into a beautiful ocean scene
  • Ocean CVC match – match the image and CVC word

Ocean Theme Day 4

  • Rainbow Fish summary page
  • Ocean shapes – identify the shape and then build it with playdough
  • Ocean snap cubes – build the shapes with snap cubes, count the cubes, write the number
  • Ocean color by numbers – use the color code to complete the pictures
  • Ocean memory game – turn over two cards at a time to find matches
  • Ocean paper craft – follow the tutorial to complete the paper craft
