Preschoolers will love this hands-on color sorting activity that goes well with your butterfly unit study!
This low-prep activity is a great opportunity for preschoolers to practice color matching while strengthening fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills.
Preparing the Activity
To prepare the activity, just print and laminate the pages. Cut the butterfly cards apart so that you have eleven separate color cards.
Complete the Activity
Provide students with pom poms, small buttons, or other small colored objects. Have students match those objects to the correct color mat.
Also take this time to discuss the color words on each mat. You can also have children practice counting to eight as they count the colored objects.
